Your Town - Country Side Paradise Or City Streets?
So, you've got your new hideaway in the country, but you don't know what to do next? Keep it simple with flowers and animal trails? Or go big and bold with concrete roads and pathways around every millimetre of town? Well, here's what each has to offer.
Country Side Paradise;
Flowers!
Want to make your town pretty with flowers, or simply want to show off that cool new hybrid to your friends? Then you've come to the right place! All pictures are from my town, please
Regular Flowers
Just like in real life, flowers (as shown above) must be watered at least once a day. Flowers not watered will wilt in a day or two, and die if not watered soon. As for weather, rain and snow will automatically water all flowers in town. Note: If you attempt to pick up a wilted flower, it will be destroyed. As well, flowers can also be placed inside your house. Unlike real life, however, they will never wilt or require watering. But be careful! Flowers can be killed if you run over them. Regular Flowers come in three colours; Red, Yellow, and White. You must crossbreed these three colours to create cross - bred flowers. Happily, flowers can be also be worn; tulips, Cosmos, Pansies, Jacob's Ladders and Carnations can be worn in your hair, while roses are carried in your mouth.
Hybrid Flowers
Hybrids (As shown above) are cross-breeds of two flowers that are of the same type (ex. Tulips, Roses, etc), and follow all the rules of regular flowers. Hybrids aren't that important, unless you like discovering a new type of flower. But some people may be willing to give you quite a lot of bells for one of these rare flowers. Even some bugs are attracted to a certain type of hybrid, so bug collectors might want to put some time into this. As well, they play a big part in creating a Perfect Town.
To Grow a Hybrid:
First, buy two similar types of flowers (Cosmos, Roses, Tulips, Pansies) from Nook's or a friend. Then, plant them next to each other or diagonally, no spaces separating them. The hybrid will pop up somewhere in the space surrounding the two flowers. A better chance of attaining a hybrid would be to plant a garden of the flowers, since there is a small chance of getting a hybrid in the first place. Next, wait. It may be frustratingly long when it comes to waiting for hybrids, but they're worth the wait. Feel free watering the flowers if you suspect this will create a hybrid faster (it usually pays off to water them!), although you may want to keep your primary flowers alive in the first place.
When looking for a place to plant flowers, try big open spaces, not covered by trees, houses or signposts (these signposts are where villagers might move in, destroying the flower). Note: This includes the space directly in front of the door.

Trees!
Trees can play a major, or minor, part in Animal Crossing, all depending on how you use them!
How to Make Orchards
Orchards look really nice in your town, and you won't have a bunch of scattered trees. You can either have them all representing one fruit (or bells), or just have them together randomly. Your choice!
1) First, make sure you have a big open area, with no houses, other trees, or empty space house signs.
2) Get any fruit (or bells) and in any amount (Recommended: 8+)
3) Then, as if the floor around you is a grid, dig holes like this:
Key:
X - Dig holes and plants trees
O - Empty space

Note: You can go on as down and far as you like in this pattern.
4) Plant the fruit in the holes!
5) Wait for it to grow into a wonderful new orchard for your town!
How to Grow a Money Tree
Ever heard the saying "Money doesn't grow on trees"? Well, in Animal Crossing, it actually does! You can plant bells in the ground to make a Money Tree!
What you need:
Golden Shovel
Bells (amount varies)
First, dig a hole with your GOLDEN shovel and place any amount of bells in the hole. Once you have buried the bells just make sure the tree WILL NOT DIE for you will lose the bells you placed in the hole.
I will use 10,000 bells as an example. Once the tree grows it will be a 10,000 bell tree as long as the tree does not die, and each tree will have three of these, just like each fruit tree produces three fruits per tree.
Useful Hints: Each bell deposit increases in percentage for living and growing into a Money Tree. For example, 1,000 bells planted has 1% chance of becoming a Money Tree, 10,000 bells planted has a 10% chance of becoming a Money Tree, etc. As well, try to make sure that you plant them where they can not only get water (like from a river; don't plant them too close to rivers though), but they have plenty of space (no trees too close) to grow as well.

City Streets / Themed Town
Designing
The great thing about having a themed town is that YOU get to make your own designs that you can put ALL over your town. If you copy designs from online, make sure you name it their username on that site to show respect. If you don't, someone'll find out you didn't really do your fancy giant mario figure and you will live your Animal Crossing life in shame.
